Works / site technician
MHP Ltd, part of the Steadfast Group, are looking for a technician to join our friendly and successful team.
Since the early 1990s, we have become well-known as specialists in manufacturing, supply and installation of abrasion resistant linings, screening and conveyor spillage systems, mainly within the quarry industry.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a mechanically minded person to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.
This challenging and varied role is primarily based in our manufacturing workshop in Swadlincote, but it will also involve carrying out installation and inspection work at our clients’ sites. Therefore, a flexible attitude towards working hours, travelling and staying away overnight when required, along with a full clean driving licence, are essential.
Our ideal candidate will have a mechanical fitting background and be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of health and safety at work. Experience in the quarry industry is not essential, although this would be a distinct advantage.
The person will also have:
A strong, hands-on approach to problem solving
Varied range of practical skills involving the use of hand-tools and power-tools
Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams
Excellent verbal communication skills
A conscientious approach to quality of work and excellent attention to detail
Great initiative when working alone
The ability to work as part of a team
A good standard of general fitness, including the ability to climb ladders and to work confidently at height
GCSE Grade A-C or equivalent in Maths and English would an advantage
As mentioned previously, this role regularly involves out of hours work, typically at weekends and occasionally at evenings, so this candidate must be willing to work paid overtime when required.
Normal working hours are: 8:00 – 16:30 Monday – Friday.
In return, we offer competitive pay rates, 20 days holiday per year + bank holidays, extensive in-house training along with the opportunity to acquire nationally recognised qualifications and a safe, friendly and supportive environment to work in.
CV’s can be sent to Simon Drohan (Managing Director and owner): email@example.com and to Paul Twigg (Operations Director): firstname.lastname@example.org.
